Look at that pretty baby! I know I'm prejudice but we make some good lookin babies. :)
Miss Zoey is an awesome baby. She spits up but it's nothing compared to the fountains that Lucy produced. She sleeps pretty good, as good as a newborn can. About 9 pm is when she is her worst, by that time she doesn't seem to know what she wants or can't get it in our heads so she just chews us out. But we still love her. :)
Lucy is an awesome big sister. It took pleading and time outs to figure out that she wasn't supposed to jam the spoon down her sisters throat, I may have hid that spoon. Lucy has picked Zoey up when I wasn't looking, she didn't drop her, she just gave her a giant bear hug. I now frequently ask Lucy if she wants to hold her and when she says yes she sits next to me on the couch and we hold Zoey together. It's rather adorable.
For our family home evening activity one night we made trees with scrap paper. Lucy thought it was super fun. I'd show you the finished products but that would mean I would have to go downstairs right now, so it's not happening.
If I need some time to get some chores done and don't want Lucy watching TV I give her a bowl of baking soda and separate bowls with vinegar with food coloring. She drops the vinegar in the baking soda and watches it fizz for about an hour. And when I'm done with my chores I get to join her.
My maternity leave is quickly flying by. It's bittersweet. I love my job and the people I work with and the patients, but I also love spending all this time with my babies. I will admit some days when Clay goes to work when both my children are screaming and their is clutter everywhere in my tiny house I think "how many more weeks til I go back?"
But I love all the cuddles and the funny things Lucy says.
Speaking of, Lucy's newest thing to say is "Oh crap" hahaha she says it so clearly too. Oh the things she picks up on.
And a little advertising for the hospital where Zoey was born. They gave her this jacket because she's so beautiful. ;)
Actually their was an article that listed the 25 worst hospitals and Madison made the list. This makes me sad because I had a way better experience there then at EIRMC. (not that EIRMC was bad by any means I just had a better stay with Madison) I'd like to see more of the stats of why Madison was considered so awful because I really would go back there again. But that's considering I ever have another child.
I got on iTunes one afternoon for 1 song, well 6 songs later Lucy and I had some great dancin music.
A favorite this week is Riverside by Agnes Obel. It's more of your interpretive or ballet dance, not our traditional hip swaying, booty shakin and head bobbing stuff.
We're getting excited for Christmas and I can say all my gifts are purchased and mailed and wrapped. Now for the treat phase.
With what happened on Friday in Newtown I'm completely heartbroken like the rest of the country and held my babies extra tight ever since. I read the stories of the what teachers did to protect the children and what the parents are saying. I'm grateful to wake up to my family and to have the gospel in my life. I rely on Heavenly Father very heavily and I'm sure the parents of those babies in Newtown are as well. Pray for those families, they need it.
