Oh Hail!

Just realize some of these pictures are not in focus or even very good.  But you're all here for my story anyway right?   ;)
So my Dad's family is having a reunion next July, at Camp Cumorah.  My parents like to go on Sunday drives as well as we do so we all headed up there to take a peak and see if it really will hold that MANY people.
Here we are climbing over the poorly placed gate
OOO just look at that scenery :)
Since we could not drive down the path to the campsite we got to walk it, and walk, and walk and walk.  Crossing many cattle bar thingys and avoiding cow crap.  Can you tell it was toasty outside and the sun was just a shining!
There she is!
We walked quite a bit and my Dad noticed a trail that we could get thru so you know we don't have to go ALL  the way around the bend in the road.  He was right trapsing (sp) through the brush stepping on animals houses and crossing log bridges over a muddy ditch was much better.
We are a family slightly out of shape and so while on our walking/hiking/burr catching trip we got a little toasty and started shedding the jackets.
I've heard nothing but good things about the bathrooms up there.  (always a girl's concern when it comes to camping)  We deemed this the men folk bathroom.  We were too lazy to hike to the women's.  (I'm sorry I take that back, my Dad wasn't the man could go on for days)
Here's my Dad saying let's go back the way we came.  We said no we'll walk the extra bend thank you.
So it was decided that the women and the baby would walk the road back to the truck and the boys would walk around the campsite some more and then head back.  Lucy was just happy to be walking.  Wanna know what kept her walking?
Holding a rock.
Me: Is this a good rock?
Lucy: No, no
Me:  This one?
Lucy:  No, no
Grandma: How about this one?
Lucy: Grabs it and we are on our way.
(Stinker)

One last piggy back ride with Dad.
If she wasn't so darn cute I woulda gotten rid of her a long time ago.
While walking back to the truck my mom and I thought, surely the boys have beaten us, and HA we have the keys.
We heard the thunder behind us the whole time.  And as we got closer it got darker and creepier.  You could feel the storm surrounding you from all sides.
When we got back to the truck the boys weren't back yet, odd.  Since we pretty much let Lucy walk the whole way and she's not really a quick one.
After about 5 min. we see them running towards us.
Dad:  There's a bear!
Clay:  Hurry get in the truck!
My mom and I:  Do they think we're stupid?
No bear folks just running from the crazy thunderstorm.

We started driving and not even 5 min. into our trek back it starts hailing, big ol hail.  You could hear nothing inside the truck.
Can you see out the windshield?  Yeah neither could we.
Kinda cool seeing the hail bounce around in the bed.
After it stopped we saw this!  It was a frantic time, me yelling "Carl stop the car, stop the car!"  As he skids to a stop I whip out the camera and Clay took some shots real quick. (He was at a better angle)
Cute right?!
And this is a handful of the lovely hail.   So so so so not ready for winter!
