So it's been a wild week here. Clay has been begging, no pleading to buy a new TV since we were first married. Being that I am a woman I saw no problem with the one we have and have dismissed the crazy idea since their are far more greater things of importance-in my opinion.
My Dad is a Black Friday master and so Clayton and my pops have been scouring the internet for a deal on a TV. They decided Best Buy had what they needed, wanted, ya know.
My Dad decides to leave work at 11 AM on Wednesday and head over. My Sis, Clay, and I are all doubting him saying that no one will be there that early.
He sent us a picture text of 5 tents camped out. So glad he went when he did.
Clay joined him after work, they set up their tent and figured they were about 15th in line. Not ideal but my Dad did his research on his neighbors. From what people told him he would get his TV because he was close enough. (Clay and him were going for different TVs and not many people wanted what Clay was buying.)
Miss Lucy and I visited them both nights and it looked like they were having a ton of fun. Sure it was cold but everyone was chit chatting it up, making buds, sharing the mass amounts of food. (My Dad and Clay even made everyone french toast on Thanksgiving for everyone)
I wasn't there but this is what I'm told. The closer it got to midnight on Thanksgiving the nastier it got. Random people started crowding them trying to sneak in their spot that these people have spent the last 2 nights to reserve. Swearing at them, spitting at them, threatening them. In the end one of the guys ahead of my boys let some people in and so my Dad ended up not getting his TV.
Clay was able to order his from the warehouse and my Dad ended up getting that same one.
Either way they both say they will never do that again. It was hard to see how truly awful people can be and how this is the furthest thing from the spirit of Christmas. The way that the people and the store handled it was awful.
Since they spent Thanksgiving at Best Buy we celebrated on Friday. Pictures of that splendid holiday to come!

oh my goodness! I'm a black friday fan but not when it gets nasty! the people that crowd the door last minute should be shot! haha kidding-but really, I've been there when I've been waiting for three hours, freezing my caboose off and then some last minute crowder gets in before me! anyway props to clay and your dad!
WOW!!!!!! People are crazy and mean!
David and I were thinking about getting a new TV from Best Buy as well! Turned out that the even though the 42" screen technically fit our entertainment center it was 1/4 and inch to tall with it's base. People were lining up on Wednesday night here in Toledo as well. It's good to know your guys still got what they wanted even if it wasn't from standing in line. Sad story :(
