Everyone needs a little 80's and 90's music in their lives.
January 27th, 2012 I turned 24-eep!
( I still tell people I'm 19 tho, not because I feel old or anything (actually I do) but because that's where my brain stopped counting and I'm probably only mentally 19 anyway. :)
So I didn't even get dressed til like noon, actually minutes before Clay pulled into the driveway, I must be psychic. He had a half day of work, holla!
Just before 5 we left Miss Lucy with the babysitter.
Awww aren't we just adorable?!
So in high school I worked at Sato's Sushi Restaurant, well after I quit they went out of business (they lost such a good employee they could go on no further ;)
So I haven't had good Japanese cuisine in over 5 years, I was craving it and I told Clay that's all I want for my birthday, some good eats!
The building where Sato's was located has since been bought and replaced with Bushido's Japanese bla bla bla.
So we were headed over there. But they opened at 5 and it was just before 5 so we stopped off at Payless Shoe source to kill some time just thinking we'd look around.
Ha me leave a shoe store without buying a pair of shoes, good one!
We bought these snazzy pants.
Every time I walk by a pair of these I'm like "Hmm I would like a pair of those, but their so trendy and they make your feet look really long."
Well it's been a few years, I've gotten past that long feet issue.
Well it's been a few years, I've gotten past that long feet issue.
I must have them.
Happy Birthday to me!
Well and if you see neon socks you can't just pass those up either!
Socks are waaay brighter then picture, um awesome!
Anywho we go to Bushido's we sit in the entrance that says "Wait to be seated" The bell is dinging and no one shows for like 5 minutes.
That's ok I worked here 5 years ago I know where things are :)
So I look around, check out the koi pond where I used to feed the turtles and fish. The water is nasty, filthy. I go check out the sushi bar and hibatchi area reminicing about flirting with the sushi chefs and where I threw some spatulas and salt shakers, pretending to be a hibachi chef.
I see a guy rolling some sushi but he pays me no heed.
All the while Clay just stays up front waiting to be seated, glancing over the menu.
I'm like let's jet I've got my nostalgia fix and no one seems to care that we're here.
So we head on over to Blue Hashi.
Clay ordered Terriyaki noodles
and I ordered Tonkatsu with tempura vegetables. (The 2 things I craved most from Sato's)
And we split a Sushi roll - Brie
While the atmosphere cannot compete with Bushido's, Blue Hashi's service was superior, good heck at least we got to eat. :)
So I got my Japanese Cuisine fix and now i'm good for another 5 years. :)
After dinner we headed over to Paramount and watched Real Steel.

Really good movie, Clay loved it and I did as well.
Well as much as I can. I really miss when movies were only an hour and a half.
It is soooo hard for me to sit still that long.
And a girl can only keep her mouth shut for so long before she starts getting escessively sarcastic.
My point, great movie, probably one that we would buy and we don't buy too many movies anymore thanks to Netflix.
And good snot did you notice that Hugh is in this, mmm handsome man.
His arms are just a little smaller then Clay's tho.
Well there ya go, my best 24th birthday so far. (You caught that right, man I'm so funny ;)
It really was a great day.
I have a Beautiful Life.
