So we've made the big decision, we'll be adding a new member to our family. (not one with 2 feet, please don't ask if I'm pregnant, it just makes me feel fat and hormonal)

Clay has consented to getting a pet, and it's about flippin time.

I love all animals well except for 3

Birds: dumb-they don't call people bird brains as a compliment

Dolphins: evil, you're just gonna have to trust me on this one

Snakes: not an animal but let's just make it clear that they are the scum of the earth

Clay is more of a cat person and I suppose I am too if they will let me play with them

This is Fifi, the rat we used to have, how can you not love that face?
Before you go and get all judgemental realize that rats are very sweet, clean, and probably one of the best pets I've ever had.

I had hamsters as a kid, those things are mean, they will bite you often and hard.  If your kid wants a cute furry rodent consider the rat, if you buy them from a breeder who socializes them they will make the sweetest pet.

I'm more of a dog person myself.

So when I was a little kid I always said that when I grew up I would live in the top of a barn and my animals would live in the bottom half. 
I have since decided that I would prefer the house and they can have the barn.
But wouldn't a burro be so sweet?
Can't you just see me pushing the stroller with Lucy down the street with the burro walking next to us? Sounds good right?
I don't think Clayton will go along with it. He's so picky sometimes. :)

Either way we're getting a pet and I'm slightly wicked excited!

Oooo one more plug, with the bad economy many people have had to go from owning a home to renting and having to get rid of their pet.  This means that all the shelters are screamin full and many sweet animals are being euthanized.  If you can find room in your lives please adopt one or I'm sure they would appreciate any donation you could do, food, money, toys, blankets.
*climbs off soap box*
