Holy overload, sheesh

You miss me yet?
Last week was insane, I was trying to get my Scentsy party all set up and figure out all the rules and such, while learning how to coupon.  I'm beat!
My party went great, thanks for asking! :)

On a completely different note, my baby, little Miss Lucy turns 2 next Sunday, February 12th.
So this week I will be posting all about the monster.
And since I didn't start my blogging jive til after she was over a year old I figured I'd throw a few of my favorites with her story. (What mother doesn't love talking about her babe?)

My water broke at 35 weeks, so that means little miss was born 5 weeks early.
Which means she got to spend 2 torturous weeks in the NICU.  I'm not exaggerating when I say torture, I've never cried sooo much in my life. ( Coulda been because I just had a baby but still)
She had sooo many different wires all over her.  Every time you held her an alarm blared at you, it was awful!
The nurses told me for a baby to leave the NICU they have to be breathing on their own, keep their temp up, and eating on their own.
Sadly she struggled with all of those.

It took us over a week to name her.  When I was pregnant we liked the names Kennedy and Cheyenne, neither stuck when she was born.  So for the first week of her life she went by Baby girl Pace.
It took us a while but we finally found a name that fit.  Lucy Madison Pace.

And after 15 days of the NICU, we upgraded to wireless baby. :)
I remember being so excited to bring her home and when we finally did we were like "OK, now what?" ummmm duh cuddle, cuddle, cuddle, love!

The whole eating thing with Lucy has always been difficult, she choked on everything.  Until we discovered Hydra-Aid.  I posted on this two years ago describing my love/hate relationship with this stuff.
In a nutshell, it brought my baby home so I love it.  But it made our lives a lot more difficult then it needed to be so I hated it.  (You see me blending it with the formula, because it would clog the bottles nipples, and I had to premix all my formula so you could only keep it so long and it had to be refrigerated, babies don't like cold milk. You know how long it takes to warm up cold milk by soaking it in a tub of hot water with a screaming baby at 2 in the morning, it's an eternity!)  And it wasn't cheap.
Love/hate

Our announcement.
She was only 1 oz  heavier then me, you can see why I was a little confused that she had to stay in the NICU.

So sweet, you see how many bibs she had on?
Count em 3.  Yep she had acid reflux, for an entire year!
Their is the blanket protecting the boppy, a blanket behind the couch, with spit up rag and 3 bibs.
Babies spit up, I get that, I've seen that.  She was bad, I know everyone says that, but I have many people who can vouch for me.
I smelled like baby puke for over a year, eww.

Did I mention she had colic?

Look she's smiling at me, she thinks my jokes are funny too!
Love that little girl.

Celebrating the 4th of July in style.
(just turn your head, I promise I flipped it, the computer lies!)

Mango's are wicked sour!

The day she learned to hold a bottle by herself was magical. :)
I still sat with her because that was the only cuddle time you could get and we needed all the bonding we could get since we lost our first 2 weeks.  But at least while she held the bottle I could doze off at 2 in the morning.

She got Dad's baby blue's.
Precious!

I loved her fuzzy do. She kills me.

She's got style.

This is all that time permits, don't worry I will finish up the rest of her first year later this week.
I'd like to stress that I love Lucy more then really, well anything.  She can make your day with one smile.
Her first year of life, I may have reeked, was probably the biggest grump ever but I'd do it all again for her.
She was a hard baby, and I know their are definitely worse situations but I can't help but think how blessed I was to go through every learning experience that I did.
I love LUCY!

Wowzah, colic and acid reflux for a whole year? Super Mom! The whole idea of a baby that cries a lot scares me. My Mom's third baby had colic and it almost drove her crazy but she had already had two kids before hand so at least she had had some practice. Also I didn't know you had Lucy at 35 weeks I thought you had said 37. Either way just under 6 pounds is pretty impressive for an early arrival! Happy Birthday Lucy!
