Pregnant brain

It's no secret that one of the added bonuses of being pregnant is forgetting things.
This one is tough for me.
I remember things very well.
In fact my dear husband can't seem to remember much (bless his heart, he tries).
So it's always been very difficult for me when he can't remember things, especially when I have done everything in my power to keep it in his memory.
Well pregnancy memory loss has been a humbling experience to say the least.
You want to hear how I flubbed things up lately?!

Monday was a fabulously hot day.  Why not hit the pool right?
After Lucy's nap we head out the door to go splash around.
(She had just woken up, she will usually will have a snack within an hour of waking up.  I opted to go right outside and when she mentioned that she was hungry then we could go inside.  Then we will have no tears when we have to get out of the pool, genius right?)
So we head out, I even drag the reluctant fat cat out.
Lucy helps me drag the hose as I spot water our pretty lawn.
As we head back to the pool I realize I forgot the pool toys.
Hop up the stairs, reach for the door knob, door knob doesn't turn.
O nuts!
Locked out!
Good thing Tiffany is a paranoid nut case who locks her house up really well.
The one window that is accessible for breaking in is locked. (safety first)

Hmmm what shall I do?  Call Clay?  Yeah he can't do much.  I dropped him off at work today since our other car is in the shop. (really when is it not at the shop? Different story)
When in doubt call Mom.
My dear Mother left her freshly drawn tub of hot, sudsy water to come and rescue us.
Luckily Clay and I had given my parents a key to our house, and the even better part, they knew where it was.  Well sort of, after trying 3 sets of random keys.

We did play in the pool while we were locked out.
But Lucy really didn't have much interest because all our toys were inside and she was hungry. (remember my genius plan?)
So she spent most of those 2 hours while we waited to get inside whining about how badly she wanted to go inside.
Guess who else was a whiner?
Gus.
The dang cat harassed me more then the 2 year old.  He desperately wanted inside and would come up to me in the pool every minute and plead with me to let him inside.

You know how I remedied this situation?
I threw the cat in the pool.
He left me alone after that.
(before you go and get all ASPCA on me, the cat doesn't seem to be bothered by water as much as the average cat.  I mostly just wanted to see if he'd swim :)

The two poor, picked on big babies.

Don't worry Lucy found other ways to entertain herself since swimming in a pool on a hot day isn't enough if you don't have toys.

All pictures taken with my handy dandy cell phone that I don't ever seem to forget to grab. (keys are now on the grab list)
Blog post brought to you by the song Top of the World by Dixie Chicks.   (love this song and the cello solo at the end, at least I believe it's a cello?  You know on second thought I could be way off, either way I enjoy the end the most.  Look it up!)
