Pumpkins and Holloween

I do indeed know how to spell Halloween correctly, I'm just typing it as Clay pronounces it.
You know Pres. Bush how he makes up words.  I have a tendency to do that, or to just say words that don't fit in the place that I'm putting it.  Clay lovingly makes fun of me for it.  So I make fun of him for saying Holloween even though it is spelled Halloween. ( I'm fully aware many people pronounce it that way, they're wrong. :)

For Family Home Evening one night we carved our pumpkin. (That we got for free from Clay's uncle, neat right?!)
Lucy is a total weirdo and was so excited that she licked it.
Ahh children, moments like these just make ya sit back and say "that's my offspring"
(as a side note, we wore pajamas for this exercise because darn it all to heck that's all I want to wear now days.  And I am a tight wad and don't want to turn the heat up.  So Clay freezes.)

See how his zipper is all the way up?  He's freezing and I'm like "Is it hot in here?"
Lucy is so amused.

Best roll them sleeves up, it's about to get gooey in here.

 Dive in!

And the finished product "Ta-Da!"
The best part of this Halloween picture is her I love Santa PJ's.

We went over to my parent's house on Halloween, because I'm afraid of what some of the people will give out on our street, and their neighborhood actually gives out good stuff.

Lucy "helped" Grandpa hand out the soda to the trick or treaters.
She even helped shake up some of the cans, now that's my offspring.
She waits patiently by the door.

Soooo exciting!   (that ghost looks like it's going to eat her)

So we've been a little busy and Halloween snuck up on us quite frankly. (I just like to say quite frankly, try it, you'll want to do it too.)
And I was convinced that Lucy was going to be Rapunzel because we already have her dress and I could just throw some sweats on underneath it.  Dad didn't realize this and thought we were going with Jesse from Toy Story. (which she's absolutely obsessed with, she prays for Buzz every night.)
So Dad was busy coaching Lucy that she was going to be Jesse.
Since we ran out of time and couldn't find an actual Jesse costume and this lady just doesn't have the energy to engineer one we just went with the cowboy theme.
Every time Lucy put on her hat she said "Jesse girl!"

The giant Jack-o-lantern (San Diego I might add) and Jesse.

She was such a good little trick or treater.
At each house she said Trick or Treat in her cute 2 yr old voice.  And she was so adorable that most people threw in extra pieces. (or at least that's what I like to think)
And then she would say Thank you ever so sweetly.
She did eventually get to the point that she didn't want to walk anymore so Dad carried her.  We should have dressed him up as Bullseye.  And I could have been Mrs. Potato Head.
Sheesh why didn't I think of this sooner?!
Don't you love the boots tho? Perfect for the winter ahead of us.
We had a fabulous Halloween, holidays are just so much more fun with kids.

Just so you know this Sunday I am 37 weeks, that's term baby!
Am I a little excited about this?
Well quite frankly, yes! :)
I'm having a horrible time trying to sleep at night and that's when my contractions are the worst but I'm still waddling along.
My feet are absolutely huge and disgusting, my hands are rather swollen in the morning, so much so that at work sometimes the small gloves aren't as comfy.
OOOO and this is a fun tid bit.  Apparently I snore.  Yeah like so much so that Clay sometimes wonders if I'm just making it up.
Who knew that being so stuffy during pregnancy would cause a person to snore.
And you know what Clay does?
He puts lotion on my incredibly gross, itchy, huge feet for me.
He ties my shoes.
He let's the bear next to him sleep.
He makes me breakfast.
Sometimes he'll even hold my hand. :)
He's my hunny bunny.
