My baby turned a year old! Yikes! Lucy's 1st year was ridiculously fast and I must agree that Zoey's was just as quick.
We must start all birthdays with delicious food, am I right?
These are my Jell-O frosting cupcakes that I made for miss Zoey.
Zoey is telling me, with her facial expression, where is my cake?
Bring me my cake!
Bring me my cake!
So I stripped her down, we all sang to her and she had no problem digging in, because she is a t-rex and will devour anything.
A cute t-rex tho right?
"Seriously? You're just going to let me dig in and get dirty? Really Mom? You sure this isn't going to make you cringe?"
"Well all right then. Here I go."
"What is this mess on my fingers?"
"Mmmmm it's delicious!"
Awwwww she's just the cutest little ham!
Clay's birthday is 4 days after little Zoey's so we celebrated their b-days together with a ton of fattening food.
That is a Reese's peanut butter ice cream cake. That Clayton made.
(Before you get all judgemental on me let me defend myself. I made him a pie last year the day that I got home from the hospital after having Zoey, so that right there says I'm not a bad wife :) Also after almost 7 years of marriage Clay and I have a routine. He likes to cook and I really do not enjoy it, like ever. So whenever it's possible he cooks and I keep the rug rats out of his hair. It's an awesome system really. And to be fair I printed this recipe like 3 years ago because I knew he would like it but I was intimidated by the number of steps it had. More than 5 steps and well I've moved on and made my own renditions to the recipes, just sayin. Rant over.)
Anyway so Lucy helped Clay blow his candles out and the cake was a big hit, it's ice cream for crying out loud, of course it was awesome!
And after Zoey's quick bath we let her open her presents that she was totally not interested in. We've been looking for a Zoe doll from Sesame St. for a while, we finally found one. Really she could care less but that's how t-rex's are, if you can't eat it or give it big slobbery kisses than what's the point really?
And one can never have too many bath toys.
I meant for Zoey, but yeah that's a perk for me too! :)
Our birthday celebration was marvelous and delightful!
p.s. Thanksgiving was fantastic as well, not a single picture was taken so picture delicious food, lots of talking, relaxation, dishes and fun and you've got it.
My Aunt Colleen passed away a couple days ago. She was probably my best reader. Or at least commented the most.
When I write my blogs I have people in mind, I think oh they'll love this picture or they'll totally understand what I'm saying here and I thought that a lot with her. Over the last couple years I felt like I got to know her better through Facebook. She was very good about staying connected with the family on there. She will be missed and I'll still be looking for her comments on here. See you on the other side Colleen!
