Lucy's birthday

So I totally survived the insanity of February and I'm only missing a couple of my marbles.  Not too shabby if I do say so myself.

My firstborn offspring decided to turn 5.  Holy smokes!  She's the one with the incredible blue eyes, exceptionally sensitive, slightly ocd, passionately picky eater, and my oldest baby.

Her birthday this year was on a Thurs. so we woke her up nice and early so she had time to open presents.
Zoey was very helpful as well.

I like this picture because she's so into this that her tongue is sticking out.  Serious business people, serious business.

She's been asking for a guitar for like the last 6 months and I kept hoping it was a phase. "kind" family memberS were harassing me and telling me I was mean for not buying her one, and I finally broke.  ( yeah like we need more noise in this house)
She says were going to start our own band. She'll play the guitar, I'll play the piano and I chimed in and said "hey!  Dad can sing!"  Take that harassy pants! :)

And since Lucy got a new Frozen backpack for school Zoey now sports the old one.  My babies aren't babies. :(

We had planned to have our friends over. (You remember Whitney who made my awesome cake for my bday)  They were going to come over and bring cake but their baby had RSV, so we did a rain check.  Lucy was bummed at first that she wasn't getting a cake so I said we'll go out for ice cream.  Well if ice cream doesn't make your day better then I didn't think you're living correctly.  She was very happy about this.  We went to Orange Leaf, and then as per tradition we ran around the isles of Toys R us and she picked out an Ariel bathtub toy.

A couple of weeks later we got together with our buddies and she made this incredible Frozen cake that we were all sooo impressed with!

Complete with glass stuck in the cake for effect.  Just kidding it was candy. :)

It was a delicious white cake with a strawberry jelly center, complete with butter cream frosting.  Calorie free of course because it's birthday cake.

Whitney and Lucy by the masterpiece.  Thanks Whit!

Lucy's favorite colors are purple and pink (duh!)
Her favorite toy is her Elsa doll
Her favorite thing to eat is Zuppa Toscana
When she grows up she wants to be a "Mom with little kids and their names will be Visada and Made-a. (Bless their hearts.)

Lol! Her kids names crack me up. I can't believe she is 5! And your friend has some serious talent. Your cake and Lucy's are amazing!
