I'll laugh the day that Lucy asks me to stop calling her that. For now she thinks I'm hilarious, after all I did just say poopsie.
So let's all take a moment and ooh and ahh over Lucy's awesome, long, gorgeous hair.
K, that's enough.
I'm so over it.
All the snarls and tears, ugh.
There were snarls in there that I really didn't think I was going to get out, it didn't seem humanly possible.
Thank the heavens for tangle tamer.
So one Sunday morning (Mar. 16th if you want to be exact.) before church I was bathing the child and dealing with the tears in the tub and I said all right we're done.
I got her all set up.
Snarls all gone.
SNIP!
Seriously I just pulled it all to the back of her head, grabbed the scissors and went with it.
I was a little panicky at first because duh her hair is gorgeous! But then the scissors closed in and there was no turning back.
I did a little trimmy, trim and made it all perfect and such.
She went out to the mirror and was flipping her hair and twirling. It was adorable, you should have been there.
While we're on the subject of my first born....
It was her birthday on Feb. 12. She turned 4!
(speaking of 4, you should hear her tantrums, prepare for a tangent)*So when I tell Lucy she can't have something or just no in general *sometimes* she will start wailing and say things like this...
"But I'm a princess"
"I'm 4!"
She has another one too, I just can't remember it at the moment.
Me: No Lucy you cannot have any candy you did not eat dinner."
Lucy: But I'm 4! *sob*
You can't disagree with her reasoning, she's 4 after all.
Get back on track kids!
So her birthday fell on a Wed and I don't know about you but our mornings are chaotic. And it doesn't matter if you wake up any earlier, we're still in a hurry.
So we decorated the night before.
Parents of the year award over here please.
It was getting to the point that Lucy needed to wake up if she was going to have time to open a present. So we were incredibly loud. We turned the hall light on. Squeaked our shoes on the floor. Both girls...zzzzzzzz.
Finally we pushed her door open and casually flipped the light on and start singing Happy Birthday!
And this is what we get.
She starts screaming, wailing, sobbing, you choose.
~slide that parent of the year award back over~
She crawls out of bed and sees our incredible art work on her door and sobs some more.
(If I get pregnant again, can it please be a boy?)
Mom and Dad: Lucy it's ok, it's your birthday and you have presents out here.
With some coaxing she came out and brightened up at the sight of colorful gifts on the table. And completely ignored the pancakes with chocolate chips in them.
Oh Clayton's silly child.
Clay talked me into getting her a camera this year. And her and Zoey think it's pretty neat.
Oh the drama. :)
HEY! So March 20th was an incredible day!
We sold our 1st house!
Or our summer house, whatever you prefer to call it.
Somewhat bittersweet.
It was the 1st house we bought and we brought two babies home there.
But oh sooooo soooo glad to only have to make one house payment now! After the last 3 months of craziness this was an incredible blessing and relief.
Here's to the new owner!
Now join with me in dancing to the song Happy by Pharrell Williams!
