I'm behind and their are other picture I would like to post on here but this is the most recent nuttiness going on in our house, so without further ado.....
Clay has had rather large tonsils for sometime now and he has dealt with a lot of sinus infections. He could squeeze yellow crud from his tonsils. (cool right?!) Anywho they got big and bad enough that the Doc suggested we slice em out. We had read online that tonsillectomies for an adult is kind of a big ordeal. But it was time. I had a couple of days off in Feb. so we scheduled it, signed our 1st child away in the event that we couldn't pay for such procedure, and stocked up on jell-o.
We scheduled him for Friday, Valentine's Day.
We woke up early Valentine's day and got ready. Clay found little v-day notes all over from his incredible wife.
As we were walking up to the hospital, holding hands of course. I couldn't help but voice how excited I was to not be going in there to have a baby. :) As much as Clay didn't want to go under the knife he felt the same way.
Aww isn't he adorable in his blue gown? You know the thing he was most worried about was the IV. (Honey, that's the least of your worries) And can you believe they numbed him before placing it? Seriously? You know how many of those dang things I've had, some hitting nerves and completely uncomfortable and never once have they numbed me before placing it. Sheesh, talk about royal treatment. They even had a little heater to put under his gown in case he got cold! Well snap, I'm not having anymore babies because they treat the tonsillectomy patients better. :) (Is my green showing?)
One last picture before they wheel him back.
Guys I was set up for this. I brought 2 books, hoping I could at least finish one. I admit I was excited to have a little quiet time to just sit and read.
They wheeled him back, I used the restroom, bought a bagel at the cafeteria and as soon as I sat down to eat it they paged me. His surgery was done. Really? Come on.

I chatted with the Dr. and he said it went well and that they were pretty smelly when they came out, ya I believe it, they were full of yellow junk.
About 20 min later I got to go see him.
Guys he was so miserable.
He was in a lot of pain and the meds they gave him were so not working. They finally gave him the hard stuff, morphine. Great now I'm married to a druggie.
That took his pain away and the wiggling stopped.
When we got to go home, about 6 hours later, he puked in the car, luckily I had thought to bring a bowl.
We spent the rest of the afternoon just relaxing in bed, watching TV, resting and reading my book. Ya know until my parents brought home the short crazy people that live with us.
It wasn't too bad of a Valentine's Day, at least we had some alone time. :)
By the second day I said "Clay you're doing awesome." He was hanging out with us in the front room, chatting, living. By that night the puking started, bleeding, dizziness.
He was on meds that made him nauseous. Long story short as soon as we got him off the hard meds he was a much better person but the pain was so intense he had to stay on them for a week and a half.
Lucy is opening her b-day mail.
We wanted him to feel included even during his recovery so we fixed him up real nice.
You like his scarf, ya it's all the rage.
Meanwhile the week and a half that he was recovering I was a single, working mom taking care of an invalid. (Love ya hunny :) I lost my mind many, many times, but I always got it back. The girls watched a lot of TV. (O crap my poor parenting is showing)
You can't turn your back with her.
Some might wonder if I am run a marathon kind of person. Actually I am. I went grocery shopping on Saturday with the girls. I was running up and down those isles as quick as I could because I knew their "goodness" will only last so long. As well as the snacks and entertainment that I had brought. We made it and I don't even have an embarrassing story to go with it. (that's probably because I forgot it) When I got home I put the essentials away, wiped some sweat off my brow and went to put the laundry away. I had left the toilet paper out and ran into the bedroom to put the laundry away and have a quiet moment with the invalid. It was quiet in the living room and I knew all too well this is a dangerous thing, but I was desperate for a quiet moment and that laundry needed hung up, I hate wrinkles.
When I came out I saw why it was so quiet. TP was rung up all the way down my hall and partially my living room.
At least she wasn't eating it, well that I know of.
As far as what we were expecting for this surgery Clay did marvelous and we really can't complain, especially now that it's over. And my parent's and sister and her family have been awesome and helped A LOT. Thank goodness for family.
And I'm excited to say that my husband is once again living and I'm ooooooooooo sooooooo grateful to have him back.
